turtleneck Forever 21 | pants vintage/thrifted | blazer vintage/thrifted | shoes thrifted

This shoot was dud. I felt 'meh' while shooting and now I feel 'meh' about the photos. Oh well. There will always be a dud shoot once in a while. I didn't set out for anything special so I'm not too disappointed. My mind is on my Halloween shoot, which requires a lot of work that I'm already starting on. Not saying anything else about it! *wink*

I found the leather pants for only $3.50 after 50% off. They fit nicely on my waist but wonky on my legs. Most of the shoes I've tried with them make them scrunch up and look super baggy, but these ones make them look flattering. The blazer is 100% wool and cost only a few dollars. It's huge on me which is partly why I bought it. I'm obsessed with oversized outerwear right now.

  1. I think it's good to feel meh about shoots sometimes: it tells you that your standards (and skills) have lifted because you know you can do better! Plus, often I'll look back on the shoots that I never published because at the time I thought they were average, and I'll realise that they're actually not that bad and end up publishing them months or even more than a year later.

    1. Very well said! I agree, although I'm usually the opposite since I end up hating everything I do later, haha. I go through many phases so it makes sense that I don't like a shoot with something I've grown out of, but there are things I pick up through each phase and sometimes I'll like them as time goes on. Every shoot (good or bad) helps me find out a little more about what I'm capable of.

  2. They're good, there's a calm atmosphere, maybe thanks to the water, it's relaxing looking at these pics :>

    1. Thank you, that's a nice take on it. Ah... if only it had been a calming experience while shooting, haha.
