WILD IN BLUE

leather top, blue leather jacket, fur scarf vintage/secondhand

First off, Happy 2014! Thank you for reading my blog and supporting my little projects with photography, makeup, fashion, etc. Lately I've been busy preparing for a major self portrait shoot soon. Not giving anything away, but it's something I've been wanting to do for a while. I'm pretty excited!

Here's my first non-lazy look for the year which was mostly inspired by my newly thrifted oversized leather jacket. It's blue (not black)! I'll buy secondhand leather, fur, or suede in any color if the fit is cute enough. Boxy, oversized stuff sometimes counts as cute. And look at how much it matches my lipstick!

The makeup is like a second version of my last look but with more saturation and different products. I received the WolfeFX Hydrocolor essential palette over the holidays from my mom (among all kinds of other goodies) and it's unlike anything I've tried before so I've been playing around with it a lot. I just used a small bit for a Pepto Bismol pink colored nosebleed here, nothing too special yet. The lipstick is another color from Limnit Lipsticks and I found it more drying than the other one - so much my lips are sensitive and almost stripped now. It stained them quite a bit, too. I think I wore lip balm underneath, but I'll wear more next time to see how it goes then. It's a lovely, opaque shade otherwise.

  1. As a makeup newb, it's nice to know that sometimes lipstick is just drying and that I'm not applying it wrong or something.

The pink nosebleed is a really cool touch. It's really striking against the black/blue palette. It's like a rawer, tougher take on the vertical stripe down the center of the lip look.

    1. Yeah, although for me, nearly all lipstick is too drying for my lips! Haha.

      Thank you!
